Living accommodation: permanent

Permanent living accommodation is a place to live for which no final date of use has been specified in the tenancy agreement. In other words you can rent it for as long as you wish.

Renting via a housing association
The housing associations in Haaglanden offer permanent accommodationin their 'Beter Wonen in Haaglanden' paper as well as on their website www.woonnet-haaglanden.nl. The paper is freely available at the housing associations, supermarkets and the library.

Responding to any offerof a house for sale requires a residence card, which can be obtained for 10,- via the website. The website is also used to respond to an offer.

Renting via estate agencies and commercial intermediary agencies
You can also engage estate agencies, place an advertisement or involve commercial intermediary agencies in your search for independent accommodation, so-called private houses. As a rule you will have to pay mediation fees, as a result of which renting in this way becomes more expensive. For appropriate addresses please refer to the Yellow Pages under Kamerverhuur and Kamerbemiddeling and Housing Agencies.

Urgent need for accommodation
If you are in urgent need of accommodation, then begin your search atDirect Search. This is where small houses are on offer for first-time buyers, usually with 1 or 2 rooms. These houses are allocated by means of a raffle rather than according to the period of registration. In other words, everyone has an equal chance.

Another option is to first search for a room or temporary accommodation. From there you can start looking for independent living accommodation. Meanwhile, you must keep on reacting to the real estate magazine.
